You probably saw the advertisement around GooseBumpy for our ‘2024 Summer Camp’.
I am really excited about it. I hear you ask WHY?
It is because my teaching work life started as a ‘youth worker’ in England, many, many years ago.
In fact, I was so young when I started youth work that I was the youngest ever paid employee for UK youth service.
I feel I’m getting the opportunity to use my skill set and my training again.
I can’t wait!
Almost every weekend I would take groups of kids on residential trips,very similar to our ‘Summer Camp’.
I believe residential trips are a great way for young people to learn many things, not just English.
They get to learn to be independent, they learn team building skills, they learn leadership skills, they learn the importance of communication, and they learn self-confidence.
These are only a few of the great points about residential trips in my opinion. Hopefully in the future we will do a wider variety of trips with our students.
Actually we are currently in the middle of planning a trip to England for next year, but don’t tell anyone because it is a secret for now!!!

サマーキャンプ！！
おそらくみなさんグースバンピィーの周りでぼくたちの“2024年サマーキャンプ”の広告を見られたんじゃないですかね。
ぼくはそれについて本当にわくわくしています。 なぜかって？
それは、イギリスで“ユースワーカー”としてぼくの教える仕事の生活が始まったから。ずっと昔にね。
実際、ぼくがユースワークを始めたとき、ぼくはすごく若くて、イギリスのユースサービスでそれまでで一番若い有給従業員だった。
ぼくのスキルセットや訓練を活かす機会を再び得たのだと感じているよ。
待ちきれないよ！
ほぼ毎週末、宿泊施設に泊まる旅に子供たちの一団を連れて行っていて、ぼくらの“サマーキャンプ”と本当にそっくりなんだ。
泊まり旅は若者にとって、英語だけではなく多くのことを学べるすばらしい方法だと信じている。
彼らは自立することを学ぶ機会を得て、チームで協力するスキルを学び、リーダーシップスキルを学び、コミュニケーションの重要性を学び、そして自信を持つことを学ぶ。
ぼくの意見では、これらは泊まり旅のほんの少しのすばらしい部分だ。
できればまた先で、生徒たちと幅広くいろいろな旅もできるといいな。実のところ今現在、来年の（グースバンピィー生徒対象の）イギリスへの旅を計画している真っただ中なんだ。でも今のところまだ秘密だから誰にも言っちゃだめだよ!!!
