2024 January (1月) Lloyd's column
Whoa, whoa, whoa!!
Put the brakes on and slow down!
No, I’m not talking about cycling again.
I’m talking about time!!
Where did 2023 go?
I can’t believe it is 2024.
I’m sure that time is speeding up.
I know I had a busy year, did that make it faster?
We started 2023 with a bang, literally, with fireworks on a ski field in Nozawa. Then, February, I went to Niseko for a fantastic week of snowboarding with my friend.
Oh, March I started a part-time job as a bike tour guide in Kyushu.
I went to Kyushu a few times last year.
Of course I was still working on my firewood business and tree business most weekends.
Then a month back to England in September.
I almost forgot we went to Vietnam to celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary in November!!
Now I understand why the year felt short.
But it was a great year of travel, laughs, meeting new people, strengthening friendships and making new challenges for 2024 (I will tell you more about the new challenge soon!).

Now fasten your seat belt and get ready for another trip around the sun!!

ー時が立つのは早いね！ー

ブレーキ踏んでスピードを落とせ！！
またサイクリングの事を話してるんじゃないよ。
時間の事を話してるんだ。
2023年はどこに行ったんだ？
2024年だなんて信じられないよ。
絶対に時間は速度を上げてるよ。
そりゃあ、忙しい1年だったよ。それが時間を早く感じさせてるの？
僕らは2023年をバ～ンって始めたんだ。文字通り、野沢のスキー場の花火でね。
で、2月に友達と最高のスノボ週間のためにニセコに行って、3月に九州でバイクツアーガイドのバイトして。
去年、九州には2～3回行ったかな。
もちろん、薪の仕事はしてたし、ほぼ毎週末、木の仕事をしてた。
で、9月に1ヶ月、イギリスに帰って、11月に結婚20周年記念にベトナムに行ったことなんて、忘れかけてたよ。
そりゃあ、1年を短く感じるはずだよね。
でも、旅行して、笑って、新しい人にも出会って、友情も深まって、2024年の新しい挑戦も考えた。（それについてはまた詳しく教えるね）
みんなも良い年だったのならいいな。
さー、シートベルトをしっかり締めて、新しい年に備えよう！
