2023 May (5月) Lloyd's column
As everyone knows I love winter because of snowboarding.
I could easily bore anyone by talking about snowboard adventures, trips, videos and equipment.
So I’m always a little down when winter starts to go…
But then spring arrives and I remember how much I love spring too!
It’s so nice to get back out in the garden.
I really enjoy feeling the warm sun on my face.
The thing I enjoy the most is watching the bulbs growing and the new buds appearing on the trees.
All the different colors in my garden at the moment are fantastic!
I think it is magical the way the plants survive though winter then wake up again in spring.
Also the pleasure of having birds and butterflies return to the garden is brilliant.
I usually sit in the garden every morning to drink coffee and eat my breakfast.
The weather is so comfortable and there are no mosquitos yet, so I have to make the most of this time while I can.
Though to be honest, I love summer and autumn too.
It is always a difficult question to answer when students ask me “What is your favorite season?”…
I suppose, I love them all!!!!

皆さんご存じの通り、僕は、スノボが出来るから冬が大好きなんだ。
みんながすぐに、もう沢山だよ、って言うくらい、スノボでした体験、旅行、ビデオ、道具なんかについては話せるよ。
だから、いつも冬が終わり始めると、ちょっとがっくりしちゃうんだ。
でも春が来ると、すごく春も好きだったって思い出す！！
庭にまた戻ってくるのってすごくいいよ。
顔に温かい日差しを感じるのは本当にいいなって思う。
一番好きなのは、球根が育つのや、木に新しいつぼみが付くのを見ること。
今、僕の家の庭は色とりどりで、最高さ！！
冬を生き延びて春にまた目を覚ます植物は魔法だと思うんだ。
庭に鳥や蝶が帰ってきてくれる喜びを味わえるのも最高だね。
僕は普段、毎朝庭に座ってコーヒーを飲んで朝食をとるんだ。
天気は快適だし、蚊の季節はまだだし、だから時間のある時はできる限りそうしてるよ。
でも本当のことを言うとね、夏と秋も大好きなんだ。
生徒さんが “すきな季節は何？” と言う質問は、ほんとに答えるのに難しい質問なんだ。
だって、答えは “ぜんぶ大好き！” だから。 ロイド
